Swap requirements:

1) 3 Handmade any occasion cards

2) 3 Pieced Cricut cuts (Exe: a princess, layered owl, Hello Kitty face)

3) 1 altered item: Etched item, Chipboard book, mini album, paint can, mail box, Explosion box, etc…)

4) No basket required (they can be difficult to ship, bulky, hard to pack when mailing items cross-country). HOWEVER, the box you use to ship the items DOES require Easter decorating. Be creative, however, for the post office’s sake, please leave the area with the address undecorated. ALSO, including the recipient’s zip code in LARGE numbers on multiple sides of the box helps to ensure that the box will be flipped/thrown less, consequently decreasing the amount of damage which may occur during shipping.

5) There is a MAXIMUM dollar amount ($30.00) which may be spent on “Purchased then shipped items.” This means, you should adhere to the limit of $30.00 when purchasing items which are NOT included in the creation of requirements 1, 2, 3, and 4. (ie: the basket fillers, goodies, scrappy brads and do-dads).

-Stipulation: all edible goods may be counted as ½ their cost, so that we may all enjoy a little more chocolate and sugar!!! (Exe: a $5 Chocolate bunny, should count as $2.50 toward the $30.00 limit.)

2010 Night Owls Monthly Swap Rules (Updated 12/25/09)

1. PM or Email Pam, PamInColorado ( pamsgalsndolls@yahoo.com ) the Hostess Specs if you would like to Hostess a Swap or if you need to cancel Hostessing a swap. Please check the Swap List to see what months are available.

2. You must sign up for the monthly swaps by the 30th of the month BEFORE the swap. So, as an example, if you want to participate in the June swap you need to PM or email the Hostess by the 30th of May. We will allow late comers if you promise us pressies...J/K

3. All swap items can be mailed anytime during the month of the swap but must go postal, at the latest, by the last day of the month.

4. Hostess’s will receive double the goodies from each swap member as a Hostess Gift. If there are 10 members of the swap you will make 11 and send 2 to her.

5. You MUST be a Night Owl and on the Night Owls list OR a close friend/relative of a Night Owl to participate. Your close friends/relatives are most welcome to join, HOWEVER, if you vouch for someone, YOU will be responsible for their sends if they do not complete their obligation to the swap.

6. Please check the Night Owls Contact List to make sure your information is correct and up to date. Please contact PamInColorado by PM or pamsgalsndolls@yahoo.com by email to be removed, or to correct any information. PLEASE keep all your information updated.

7. We do not want to open the swaps up to the general Cricut MB public. Lets keep them small and in the Night Owl group so we don’t have any “Flakers”. We all know and trust each other so that shouldn’t be an issue.

8. The most important rules of these swaps are to HAVE FUN and KISS (Keep It Super Simple). The purpose is to use the supplies we already have and not to have to spend a small fortune to be able to participate.

FAQ ( Frequently Asked Questions )

What are Inchies? Twinchies? Trinchies?
Inchies are a 1” square decorated or embellished to the Hostess Specs.
Twinchies are a 2” square decorated or embellished to the Hostess Specs.
Trinchies are a 3” square decorated or embellished to the Hostess Specs.

How many Inchies, Twinchies or Trinchies do I need to make?
The Inchie etc... swaps will involve making a set of 2 - 4 different inchies per the Hostess’s specifications. You will make 1 set for each person in the swap, plus 1 extra set as a Hostess Gift. You will be sending the Hostess 2 sets of what you make in other words.

Individual Swap Specifications

April 2009 - Stephanies Punchie Swap - Closed
Punchies swap - Minimum of 6 per design. You can do as few or as many designs per person. Just make sure your designs and colors match up. No pink snowmen or mustard-colored butterflies. Ew. Borders are fine, I think maybe 2 of each at least 6" long per design. This way, they can go on cards or pieced on a page. You can do the same "sets" for everyone or break it up by person if you know someone might like something in particular. (I like dragonflies in bright colors, for example).

You should probably tuck your punchies in a zippy bag before putting them in the envie, just for security.
Anybody else who wants in, please PM me. I might miss it in a post. Deadline for sign up on this one should be Sunday the 12th, I think, in order to get them done and out by the 30th. Is that ok?

December 2009 – Christmas Card Swap
Since December is usually such a busy month we decided to forego our regular swaps and just work on our Christmas Cards and family activities. If you wish to send cards to the Night Owls just make and send to whomever you wish on the Night Owl Contact List. No Lists or Rules for this one. Merry Christmas!!

TWINS!!!

So my daughter found out she's having twins. WooHoo!!! First ultrasound pictures - she let me have them. She's 15 weeks pregnant, and I've started their book already. How obsessed and excited is that? So, here's the first page.

Ok, so I did a lo with items from one of our swaps. Hubby got GREAT pics of the fireworks, and Diamond took great pics of me and hubby. I also got a pretty good shot of hubby. I used Pam's twinchies to decorate this fairly simple lo. What do you think?

The second shot - below - is with hubby's pic lifted up and the journaling inside. I stamped a few images, colored them in with stickles, and applied glossy accents over the top. I also laminated the top half of the "card" because it's the part that won't be in the page protector.

New stuff

Thanks for supporting me in my recent quest to win the desk. I don't think I was successful, but I am a winner nonetheless...I have some of the best friends a girl could ask for and I love you all!

A Birthday card recently made. Paper is DCWV from the Blossoms and Butterflies stack. I used watercolor pencils and a glitter pen to bling it up!


A card for Tuki! She is such a sweetie, so when I sent her the owls I had to do her a card too!DCWV again!!! Gotta love that paper!

Tuki's owls...the first one is patterned paper with CB embossing and inking.

This owl's background is done with alcohol ink....the picture really doesn't do it justice at all! CB and inking as well!

A wedding shower card for Charisa! Her shower was last Saturday. Dazzling Diamonds, glossy accents and wet embossing on this one!

October Monthy SWAP

I've finally decided on the theme for our October SWAP, and I'm sure you've all figured it out since I was asking who has Cuttlebugs, etc... Anyway I want to host a Embossing/Die Cut SWAP. It'd be great to get some embossed sheets from folders we don't have. If you don't have embossing folders or the ability to emboss then send out die cuts you can make. Which ever you prefer. My Little Bit of Heaven (Joy's Scraproom)

This is my wonderful place where I escape . My DH helped me put together my crafting room, where I spend most of my time, although it seems I spend more time on my lappy talking to my wonderful Night Owl friends then actually working on projects. The walls are painted red and shelving is in white. I used a look of black accents. My girlfriend made the chair covers and curtains with my favorite Mary Englebreit fabric.




1st picture is showing the closest, the doors have been removed and it consists of an entire shelving system then my jetmax cubes are also in there, we put a shelf on the bottom to hold up the jetmax cubes and to allow plenty of room under it for all my totes that I use when I go to crops, also stores my sewing machine.







2nd picture is one of my wall spaces, the counter tops are made of MDF extra wide and it is a U shape along 3 walls.

3rd picture is the opposite side the window wall.

Final picture is a small little dresser that I use to store my current projects that I would like to do chipboard books, paint cans, etc. also in the wardrobe section that contains some of my stamp sets along with partial completed projects.

Ok, so I still have to do my RAK for my 2nd bughead. We're gonna find out how well everyone knows me.

Siobhan's Scrap Envy Cave!

Looking into the scrap room from the dining room. The living room is just to the right of this view and the kitchen is directly behind. My house has a really open floor plan so I had to make sure that everything flows well together.

Cardstock storage and yummy massage chair~a girl must unwind! LOL! The closet in this room is mine too and there are shelves in it that are the complete width and depth of the closet but they are a mess and you don't get to see them~! LOL!

My scrap desk. It is a ScrapNCube set up and I LOVE it. My DH bought it for me a few years ago. The desk is 60" long and 26" deep! Each cubit houses it's own goodies and the cubit on the upper right houses my patterned paper. It is almost full but I can supposedly get 700+ pieces in there. In the others I store my metal embellies, buttons, ribbon, fibers, punches, embossing powders, stamps, inks, misc die cuts, Crop o dile, stickels and chalks. I store my ATG in the MM turntable now so the holder is an actual kleenex holder now and the paper trimmer is my one and only Craigslist find...a fairly local lady decided she liked her CM one better! $20 bucks! Hee hee!

E rack. The top shelf is reserved for my lappy when I am scrapping so that I can have it close but not taking up valuable desk space!

My large format Epson printer compliments of the Colorado Lottery!!! We won $200 on a scratch ticket and when I gave Shawn half he wanted his half put towards a good printer!!! Yippeee, we both won! This Expedit has small albums, Mommy's movies, magazines, Xyron, primas, skittles, and my Cuttlebug!

Middle Expedit has completed albums, video games and eletronics and of course a TV.

Another Expedit shelf with photo storage, cards, DCWV stacks, LO waiting for album homes, alchol inks, and embellies storage. I also have a tool caddy on the top which I store letters in

Good Morning Everyone! I just wanted to do a quick post to let everyone know Stephinie (Mimi) got her 2nd Bughead in the Night Owls thread last night so don't forget to congratulate her!! Today Catie is teaching her first class, Cricut 101, and here's hoping it goes well for you Catie. Also Megan's PEA IS WALKING !! Yea Pea!! What a sweetie. Babies are so cute when they first start toddling along. Megan is also getting ready to move into her new house where she will have her own scraproom!! Yea Megan!! Her DH got it painted and it looks soooo good. I am so happy for her.

OK, about this blog. I set it up for the Night Owls to post news, pictures, swaps, basically anything you want to share with other Night Owls. I thought it would be nice for those who aren't able to be in the thread a lot to have a place to come and catch up quick and get swap info etc... In order to be able to post yourself, you just need to PM me your email address and I will send you an email giving you permission to post. If you have any problems figuring it out all you need to do is PM or email me and I will help you.

Tomorrow I am going to take some time and post all the swap info and rules etc... here. So this will be the place to go to find out what swaps are going on what month and info about those swaps such as requirements, Hostesses, being a Hostess etc... So check back tomorrow. New Night Owl Blog

Hello Girls!! I have created a blog just for the Night Owls. This is a private blog and not listed anywhere, however others may still access it if they have the address so remember that when you post. I am just starting to set it up so bear with me for a few days. I am making this a group blog and it can have as many as 100 authors, which means when you have news you want to share with everyone, you can come here and post it and also leave a comment on others posts. We can post swap info and pictures and basically anything you like. I would like to keep the blog as private as possible so I will ask that we don't give out the blog address, add it to our siggies or add as a link on other blogs. I am hoping we can use it as a Virtual Newsletter so when someone is gone or needs info about swaps etc.. they can come here to see what's happening. As I figure out more I will set up more. The name came about because Night Owl News was already taken, so this is the Night Owl Hooter. Does that make us Hooter Girls?? ...LOL. So enjoy it and have fun!! Hugs, Pam
